Here’s a new film from Speak Up Multi Media students at St Joseph’s Corinda! The film is based on a poem that we began work on in our Speech and Drama class, and decided to turn into a movie. A big congratulations to this little group on a very successful project!

We are pleased to announce that Speak Up Studio will be offering classes at THREE new venues in term 3! The lucky schools are Graceville State School – Monday afternoons, Karalee State School – Wednesday and Friday afternoons, and a community-based class at St Andrew’s Church Hall in Indooroopilly – Saturday mornings. Speak Up Studio had a great time at Lifeline Bookfest this weekend! With children’s books priced between $0.50 and $2.50 we went a little crazy and came home with a great big STACK of new (old) books and resources for kids! It was Mark Twain who said, “a person who won’t read has no advantage over one who can’t read” and at Speak Up
This term, grade 2 student, Gabi has designed and created her very own puppet! Meet “Rosebud” the Pink Puppy Puppet! Gabi will continue to work with Rosebud as she practices speaking clearly and using her beautiful voice to tell stories. Working with puppets is a great way for students to develop vocally, and practice their conversation and storytelling skills.
