The Speak Up team are currently busy as bees designing and creating all of the costumes and props for our upcoming “Stuff & Nonsense” concert! With such ridiculous poems and plays, creating the costumes this year has been a lot of fun for the team. Our concert this year is split into themed sections and each section has been designated a certain colour. All of the costumes and props are being designed to fit with not only the theme, but also the colour of the section … making the studio at the moment a very colourful and glittery work place!
Dear Cathy and team,
There have been many moments this term when all three of my children have presented me with evidence that the Speak Up Studio classes are really building their confidence and arming them with some wonderful skills.
I won’t bore you with examples but just to offer one, I was amazed when watching my usually shy Hugh (6) stand up in front of a room full of children and perform jokes for the recent Gap’s Got Talent competition. To witness him being so calm and confident was the loveliest thing.
I think you all do great work. The two teachers I deal with regularly have both left me very impressed. Thank-you.Sarah
Thanks again Miss Maddie for your work with our boys. We enjoyed parent watching week this morning! Chester is inclined to be introverted (like me!) and he wasn’t overly fussed on attending Speak Up originally. But I watched him jumping out of skin to be the “excuser” in you game in front of everyone this morning and it occurred to me that he’s a different kid to a year ago, much more confident. He told his mum and I this week he wanted to be an actor. That’s a massive turnaround! Thanks for your efforts with both boys. And more Monty Python please!Christian
