Reindeer Marionettes

Santa’s sleigh needs guiding and we know the reindeer for the job! In this festive workshop, students will construct a fun and colourful reindeer marionettes using all sorts of different craft materials and learn how to bring them to life!

Let’s rock around the Christmas tree in this fun filled craft and Musical theatre workshop! Students will make their own Christmas decoration and learn dances to some rockin’ christmas carols, finishing with a special performance for parents.
The Grinch Play Production

He’s as cuddly as a cactus and as charming as an eel but you’ll see why audiences can’t get enough of Dr Seuss’ The Grinch. Students will rehearse a section of the green and fuzzy script while learning about drama skills and performance techniques.

Delectable and delicious design! Instead of roof tiles there are gummy bears! Instead of plaster walls there is gingerbread! Instead of concrete there is icing! All the pieces will come together to make one super scrumptious house! No baking required; all decorators need is their sense of fun! *Food is used in this workshop

Ferdinand the Bull

He may look big and scary but Ferdinand is a Bull with a big heart, and he is coming to Speak Up these school holidays. Come and express yourself through craft and drama activities that Ferdinand himself would love!
Winnie the Pooh Craft and Musical Theatre

(Monday 8th January)

Adventure into the Hundred Acre Wood, and meet all the interesting characters who live there, in this Musical Theatre and Craft workshop. Students will learn dances to some of the most memorable Winnie the Pooh Songs and make their own Useful pot, just like Pooh made for Eeyore! This workshop will end with a special performance for parents.
Unicorn Horns Craft and Drama

We all have a bit of Unicorn magic inside us, come and set yours free by making your very own magical Unicorn horn. Students will then express themselves through drama games and activities!
My Little Pony

Journey with us to the land of Equestria these school holidays and explore the magical music from the My Little Pony Movie. Students will make their own craft and learn dances to songs from the film, with a special performance for parents at the end!
Coco Craft and Musical Theatre

Explore the colourful Land of Dead, in this lively musical theatre and craft workshop. Students will learn print making techniques and print their own Sugar Skull artwork and dance along with songs from the movie Coco. This workshop will finish with a special performance for parents!
Aladdin

Come and explore a whole new world, a dazzling place you’ve never known! Get swept off your feet by the wonderful songs from Disney’s Aladdin in this singing and dancing extravaganza. Make your own wish jar and explore your deepest wish! Students will finish with a special performance just for parents!
91-Storey Treehouse

Join Andy and Terry in their incredible 91-Storey Treehouse! Students will design their own amazing treehouse, imagining it into craft and story form!
Pokemon Cards and Drama

(Thursday 11th January)

Gotta catch em all! Come and find them at the Speak Up Pokemon Gym! Squindalar, Grass Knocker and Blargon are just some of the names of Pokemon invented by children during our last workshop! Young Pokemon trainers from far and wide will invent a set of Pokemon Cards from their imagination, and use collage to bring them to life. At the end of the workshop, trainers will put their inventions to the test in a dramatic Pokemon Card Tournament.

Paddington Bear is back! Celebrate the release of Paddington 2 with this fun craft and drama workshop. Students will make their own Paddington bear puppets and work together to create  their own performances.

Do you need an Astromech Droid like R2D2? Don’t jump in to your X-Wing Starfighter without one! Or maybe a Pit Droid to help look after your Podracer? Build one like Anakin did, in a workshop designed for a Jedi. They might fight battle Droids or fly through the stars! Beep-boop!

Broadway Musical Theatre

(Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th January)

Calling all Broadway stars! Come and learn what it’s like to perform on Broadway! Join us for this two day musical theatre workshop, learning about singing, dancing and acting. Students will learn a dance to a mashup off famous Broadway songs and finish with a performance for parents!
Comedy Acting

(Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th January)

Are you always making people laugh with hilarious jokes? or maybe you need a bit of help delivering the punch line just right? Come along to Speak Up’s comedy acting workshop to learn all the skills you need to perform hilarious scenes and skits! This 2 day workshop will finish with a special performance for parents!
Evolution of Disney Music Video

The Magical world of Disney is coming alive in this mashup music video! Whether you are a whiz at dancing, or work best behind the camera, all jobs need filling to bring some of our favourite disney songs together.
Aladdin Musical Theatre

(Thursday 11th and Friday 12th January)

Hop on your flying carpet and get ready to experience a whole new world with Jasmine and Aladdin in this musical theatre workshop. During this two day workshop, students will learn singing and choreography to a range of songs from the hit musical Aladdin, ending with a special performance for parents.
Harry Potter Villains

(Thursday 11th and Friday 12th January)

The Dark Mark has been summoned! Come and test your magic skills in this two day acting workshop designed for those who dabble in the dark arts! Students will workshop a scene or monologue from one of the less friendly Harry potter characters, invent their own spells and get dressed in Hogwarts robes to put on a spellbinding performance for parents!
Seussical The Musical

(Monday 15th January – Friday 19th January)

Any thinker who thinks can come up with a think! Oh the places you’ll go on this Seussical adventure. This week-long musical production workshop is for kids who are seriously into singing, dancing and acting! Throughout the week, students will rehearse and perform Seussical the Musical! Students will develop skills in vocals, dancing, character and group work, and gain valuable performance experience. (Please note, participants are required to attend a one hour group drama class/ informal audition to meet the production team on Thursday 7th December from 4pm – 6pm)
