“George’s Marvellous Medicine” by Roald Dahl

While George’s parents are out and about for the day his horrid grandmother starts to boss him around and scare him. Telling him stories of witchcraft, and how she likes to eat bugs, Yuck! Once free of the evil grandmother, George mischievously decides to make a ‘magic medicine’ to replace his grandma’s real medicine. After collecting many household items, none of which should be consumed, he starts to mix all the ingredients together until it becomes a lovely creamy brown! He adds in some shampoo, a little deodorant, floor polish, a dash of horse radish, and some engine oil. Then finishing it off with some brown paint from the shed, to ensure the correct colour, he feds it to his grandmother…. You’ll never guess what happens next!
