Belong

More than just a drama class

When you join Speak Up you’re not just enrolling in Speech and Drama lessons – you’re investing in your child’s growth. There are no cookie-cutter approaches or shortcuts here. Our talented teachers are invested in your child’s progress and have the knowledge and know-how to equip your child with skills for success in school and in life. Our team aren’t just teachers – they’re role models.

Yes, Speech and Drama classes are about building performance and communication skills. Confidence, articulation and projection are just a handful of reasons why kids arrive in our classes. But what we do is so much more than skill development. We build awesome humans.

Courage. Wit. Persistence. Compassion.

These are the things that a performing arts education provides. Skills such as speaking clearly, making eye contact and reading aloud are embedded into Speech and Drama lessons and they have a real impact in your child’s future. How do I know? As somebody who grew up taking Speech and Drama, I experienced this growth first hand.

My daughter started Speak Up classes when she was in grade two. That’s about five years ago. Initially it was to help Eliana with her confidence.  It morphed into so much more – developing friendships, discovering her passion for drama and written work, and having some amazing role models in other students and of course her teachers.

Grow Up At Speak Up

At Speak Up Studio, we are a part of your child’s journey as they grow up into the person they want to be. From their first day of prep (with their overly-large backpack!) to their last day of year 12 and beyond, speech and drama will be their ally, their secret weapon, and their second home. Our students stick with us for years and years because with each year and each performance they can see, hear, and feel the incredible progress they’ve made.

And we love nothing more than watching the once wild or super-shy 4-year-old Explorer develop into a unique, expressive, empathetic teenager who is ready to face the world head on. If this sounds like the place you can see your kid growing up, then read on to find the program and class for you.

What’s included?

Enrolment includes everything your child needs to be part of Speak Up.

Instead of a whole bunch of separate invoices, we’ve bundled everything into a simple, set monthly fee that makes things easy for everyone. No worrying if you’ve paid something on time. No hidden costs. Monthly pricing means that the only surprise you’ll get is the amazing progress your child will make over their years at Speak Up.

When everyone is all-in, no one misses out. That means more equal opportunities for all of our kids to thrive.

“My son loves Speak Up and it’s the only activity that he looks forward to. He doesn’t lack confidence, just needs help channeling it positively which Speak Up seems to be doing! He was soooo excited this evening when got home and told me how he earned his first badge. I can’t wait to see him in the concert. I think he’ll love the attention!!” .

Speak Up also hosts classes at school venues throughout Brisbane. These are limited to the students who go to those particular schools, so if you don’t see your child’s school on the list you should pick a class at Red Hill.

Our little drama queens both love Speak Up. Chloe was a very shy prep student but her confidence in public speaking has grown immensely…. I believe Speak Up has had a big part to play in this.  Liv has always been comfortable in most situations, but it’s great to hear she is bringing her sparkle to Speak Up.
