Speech and Drama Teacher
Miss Anna began her journey in the creative arts at a young age after studying a broad range of disciplines such as drama, dance and film. After attending classes at Flair Dance Academy, Helen O’Grady Drama Academy and Laidley Dance Centre, during her childhood, Anna set her sights on the world of theatre with a keen passion to immerse herself in tertiary study.
After graduating from The Queensland University of Technology in 2018 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, double majoring in Drama and Creative and Professional Writing, Anna has relished in the new challenges and opportunities university has brought. It was during this time that she realised her love for learning and that teaching was something she wanted to pursue. While beginning her career as a teacher at Speak Up Studio she is also maintaining an active performing career within Brisbane’s festival scene.
Anna strives to always embody an “never say no” attitude to every aspect of life. As a teacher she aims to create a safe and supportive workspace where creativity and self expression can flourish.
It is something to be able to paint a particular picture, or to carve a statue, and so to make a few objects beautiful; but it is far more glorious to carve and paint the very atmosphere and medium through which we look, which morally we can do. ~ Henry David Thoreau via the book Beachcoming at Miramar.
