You will need
[checklist]
- A sock
- Fabric or craft glue
- Scissors
- Cardboard
- Templates (download)
- Coloured felt
- Eyes
- Pipe cleaners
- Other bits and pieces for decorating

Create the mouth
Cut a slit into the toe of the sock to create space for the mouth
Use the downloadable cardboard templates to trace and cut out the cardboard mouth
Fold the cardboard mouth in half
Apply glue to the edges of the cardboard
Open the “mouth” of the sock
Carefully glue the sock to the cardboard
Use the felt template to trace and cut out the felt mouth
Glue the felt into place

Decorate you puppet!
Stick on the eyes
Cut out all the necessary felt shapes for ears, nose, tongue and anything else and stick them on!
Decorate your puppet with anything else that takes your fancy!
Now it’s time to give your puppet a voice and you’re all done!
